The international conference, Liège 2011, on the theme of “Sustainable economics within the new culture of development” can be defined as an appointment of ENTI, a place to discuss, elaborate, share and disseminate knowledge and experiences of territorial intelligence.

Locally, this conference is supported by SPI + (Development Agency for the Province of Liege) and driven by a convergence of an opportunity, a desire and a request.

  • An opportunity: SPI+'s 50th anniversary
  • A desire: The Council of economic development wants to evolve towards a more integrated approach of its territory
  • A request from the SPI+: review its 3 themes:
    - Territory (its perimeter = 1 province, area of 84 communes and 1M people),
    - Services for their clients and partners, public or private
    - Infrastructures for enterprises and collectivities

Finally, the international conference in Liege wishes to be complementary to the International Meeting on Territorial Intelligence in Gatineau (Quebec, Canada) planned since two years.
