Alba Iulia 2010: Social Development and Territorial Intelligence

This conference is organized by the ministry of education, research and innovation of romania, the "1 decembrie 1918" University of Alba Iulia, Faculty of Law and Social sciences, department of sociologie and social work.

The conference aims promoting innovative research based on the social knowledge of territories and communities. Through accumulation and generalization processes, the effects of social development can be considerably multiplied; therefore the implementation of the principles of social development can lead to social progress and to the formulation and efficient enforcement of public policies on a territorial scale. Through the papers presented at the Conference we aim at striking a balance between theoretical contributions to social development and territorial intelligence a conceptual, methodological and social intervention level .

Salerno 2010: Local Governance and Territorial Intelligence Confronting Development Patterns

The international conference "Local Governance and Territorial Intelligence Confronting Development Patterns" will be held in Fisciano on the 12th and the 13th of October 2010. This event is organized by the University of Salerno in association with ENTI in the framework of the Research Group of Territorial Intelligence.

job-LIFE summer days 2010

ENTI and IFIS - University of Paris-Est Marne La Vallée organize the summer days of the job-LIFE project from Thursday 22 to Saturday 24, July 2010, in order to strentghen the links between partners and to deepen the workplan of the project.

The European Network of Territorial Intelligence, ENTI, filed on February 2 the European project “Future jobs for a better life”, “job-LIFE” for short.
It responds to the call for project of the 7th Framework Programme for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration Activities of the European Union (FP7), in the theme “Socio-economic Sciences and the Humanities”.

The objective of jobs-LIFE is to establish a prospective for jobs in Europe at a territorial level in 2025, within the framework of the socio-ecological transition, with new development trajectories characterized by the combination of the sustainable development objectives for a better life quality.
The project organizes 10 work packages into three research axes:

Axis {life quality} “Work, territories and life quality in the combination of the objectives of the sustainable development”
Axis {job systems“Territorial job systems, innovation and governance for creating and adapting jobs in the socio-ecological transition”
Axis "Communication, culture, education and dissemination for new development trajectories"

It is now necessary to deepen the work plan of the project and to detail its contents.

In this framework, a work meeting will be held from thursday, 22 july, 10 A.M until friday, 23 july, 16.30 P.M

at IFIS-University of Paris-Est Marne la Vallée.

The director, Mr Christian Bourret, proposes to host and to organize this "Job-LIFE summer days 2010".

The objective of these days is that during the 9th international conference of territorial intelligence to be held in Strasbourg on Wednesday 17 to Friday, November 19, 2010, we can proceed to the validation of the final project to initiate the project without delay once the January 1, 2011.

In the framework of the IT-GO conference, the day of 23 March, 2010, will be devoted to enhancing the ENTI research project, the job-LIFE work plan and the GdRIit ( International Group Research Territorial Intelligence activities) based on the research program ENTI, according to the following schedule:

10h-12h ENTI board meeting with the objective of defining a process of harmonization of the research project ENTI with job-LIFE work plan and GdRIit activities.
14h-15h45 Presentation of three projects and proposals for harmonization and allocation of tasks. Concertation process and evolution of the ENTI research project.
16h15-18h Discussion in workshops in three axes, a priori : a) territories-transition-combination-indicators b) system-territorial governance employment, innovation c) communication-culture-education-diffusion

An international symposium « environment and sustainable development : contribution of the social sciences » will held at Sfax and Gafsa (Tunisia) on february from 11 till 14th.

It is organized by le groupe d'Etudes pour le développement et l'environnement social (the studies group for development and social environment) (GEDES) with the collaboration of the universities of Sfax and Gafsa.

The 13th AGILE International Conference on Geographic Information Science: "Geospatial Thinking"

The 13th AGILE International Conference on Geographic Information Science, is scheduled to take place in Guimarães, Portugal. The program will offer parallel paper presentation sessions, keynote sessions, poster sessions and pre-conference workshops to share ideas, explore on-going research, future developments, including state-of-the-art applications, and to network with the professionals from academia, industry, and government who are interested in promoting GI teaching and research activities among GI laboratories at the European level.

AGILE 2010 builds on the success of previous conferences in this series held in Crete (April 2004), in Estoril (May 2005), Visegrad (April 2006), Aalborg (May 2007), Girona (May 2008) and Hannover (June 2009).
AGILE 2010 will take place in Guimarães, Portugal. Guimarães is one of the Portugal's UNESCO World Heritage cities recognized by its beauty and historical monuments.

Institutionalization, un-institutionalization of the social intervention

The social State was characterized in most of the developed western countries by a greater institutionalization of its modes of intervention in the field of social policies and more specifically at the level of the social regulation. One of the most accomplished forms that took this process of institutionalization became a reality in the development of the professionalized social work. Now this movement is in process of reorganization for various reasons which this symposium suggests studying.

Colloque des Instituts français de recherche à l'étranger - deuxième édition

les 5 et 6 janvier 2010 musée du Quai Branly, Paris.

La question des mobilités fait partie de ces réalités intemporelles qui s’imposent avec plus de force encore dans le contexte de mondialisation, ouvrant de nouveaux champs d’investigation aux chercheurs en sciences humaines et sociales. Même si la question de la reconnaissance d’un droit fondamental à la mobilité se pose de nos jours avec plus d’insistance, les sociétés humaines n’ont jamais cessé de croître et de se renforcer par une adaptation opportune aux incessants flux migratoires. Les formes nouvelles de la mondialisation ont modifié les motivations des candidats au déplacement en même temps qu’elles entraînaient un changement dans le sens des grands courants de circulation. Plus que jamais, la recherche en sciences sociales s’intéresse de près à la situation des pays de départ pour ainsi conduire les pays d’accueil ou de transit, citoyens et dirigeants confondus, à relativiser nombre de leurs certitudes. La compréhension de ces phénomènes plus que millénaires et la définition des enjeux contribuent aussi à l’élaboration de politiques publiques mieux adaptées au cadre des intégrations régionales renforcées.
